Skoda showcased a design study at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show called the VisionS. Apart from giving us a peep at their upcoming six-seater SUV, the VisionS concept also gives us an idea of what to expect from all their future cars in terms of design. According to the company, this new design language is inspired by a form of art called Czech Cubism. Like the recently launched Skoda Superb, the VisionS concept features a sharp design language while there is a neat crease that runs around the centre of the body, connecting the bonnet and the boot. From the side, the Skoda VisionS concept resembles the Audi Q7 with its sloping roofline and long waistline.

Powering the Skoda VisionS is a plug-in hybrid powertrain which uses a two electric motors and a 1.4-litre TSI engine that makes 156PS of power and 250Nm of torque mated to a six-speed DSG. One 40kW electric motor which makes 220Nm powers the front wheels along with the petrol engine, while the second 85kW electric motor producing 270Nm of torque independently drives the rear wheels. Skoda claims a 0-100kmph time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of almost 200kmph. At the same time, the company also says that the Skoda VisionS will go a 100km with just 1.9 litres of fuel. If necessary, the Skoda VisionS can also be driven in electric mode.

The interior of the Skoda VisionS has no analogue controls on the centre console, but instead, has a touchpad and a large touchscreen under it. The instrument cluster is a digital unit, while the front passenger gets a large display that is spread across the dashboard. The rear passengers get small display units integrated under the front head rests and a touchscreen display unit in the centre similar to the one on the centre console.

On the sidelines of the Superb launch in India, a Skoda India official confirmed that an all-new product is likely to make its debut in India. We believe this to be the VisionS seven-seater SUV. The SUV will go in to production sometime later this year and is likely to make it to India as well.
