Honda Cars India Limited has launched the refreshed Brio in India. The 2017 Honda Brio is priced at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in four trims — E, S, VX and VX AT. The refreshed Honda Brio was first showcased at the 2016 Indonesia Motor Show. This is the first time that the Honda Brio has got a facelift since its launch in 2011.

New Honda BRIO

The 2016 Honda Brio has received same design cues as on the Indonesian-spec model. It gets a completely new front bumper with a larger profile. The same also lends a wider look to the hatchback. Additionally, it sports a new single-slat radiator grille as seen on the new Honda Amaze. The overall silhouette has been retained from the previous model except for a minor update in the alloy wheel design. On the rear profile, the changes aren’t substantial other than the addition of a sporty spoiler with LED stop lamps. There are five colour options on the Brio – taffeta white, alabaster silver, urban titanium, rally red and white orchid pearl.

Inside, the 2016 Honda Brio gets a revised cabin design with the same feature list as seen on the new Honda Amaze. We believe if Honda had introduced the Brio with such interior design, it would not have attracted such criticism for its cabin. The company states that the quality of plastics have been improved and feels more premium than before. The top-end trim also comes equipped with a 2-DIN entertainment system. The entry and mid trims get a beige treatment while the VX trim is offered with an all-black scheme.

In terms of safety, the 2016 Honda Brio is offered with ABS with EBD and dual front airbags, available only on the VX trim. However, the entry-level trims get engine immobiliser and driver seat belt reminder.

The 2016 Honda Brio is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that makes 88PS of peak power at 6,000rpm and generates a torque of 109Nm at 4,500rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, along with an optional 5-speed CVT. The hatchback delivers a claimed overall efficiency of 18.5kmpl for manual and 16.5kmpl for automatic variants.

Here are the 2016 Honda Brio ex-showroom Delhi prices.

E MT: Rs 4.69 lakh

S MT: Rs 5.20 lakh

VX MT: Rs 5.95 lakh

VX AT: Rs 6.81 lakh
