There have been teasers and leaks and we though we knew all about the Suzuki Swift Sport! Until now at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017, Suzuki seems to have revealed more than one juicy detail about the new Swift Sport. The Suzuki Swift Sport is lighter than its outgoing trim by at least 80kg. Okay! Before you ask us, Suzuki refused to comment about the Swift Sport's Indian debut.

The Suzuki Swift Sport will be offered in seven colours but this yellow shade isn't shared with the other regular Swifts

The Suzuki Swift Sport gets a small change in the grille from the regular car. There are also the sporty bumpers as well as the body kit that distinguish it from the regular trims. Suzuki have also added carbon fibre-style embossing for the grille, lip spoiler, side skirts as well as the rear diffuser. Other exclusive bits include the dual exhausts as well as the 17-inch diamond cut alloys. Inside the cabin, there isn't much of a difference from the regular Swift, except the addition of racy red colour accents everywhere.

The 17-inch diamond cut alloys match the overall look of the car and are said to be equipped with special performance tyres

Coming to the heart of the matter, the new Suzuki Swift Sport employs a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol Boosterjet engine that makes 140PS/230Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and claims to be a frugal sipper at the pumps as well. There are a host of features to make the vehicle sporty than its regular cousin. The Suzuki Swift Sport gets a thicker Monroe front shock absorber that helps with rigidity and stability. The torsional rigidity of the rear torsion beam has been tuned to provide optimal roll stiffness, says Suzuki.

The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport's cabin too looks familiar yet sporty with those red accents

The all-new Suzuki Swift Sport will go on sale globally in the next few months. The third-gen car is expected to contribute to the sales of the Swift in a bigger fashion this time around with its appeal of performance and practicality.
