Honda's bestselling sedan, the City has gone through a midlife makeover, a first on the sixth-generation model, since its launch in 2014. Priced at Rs 8.49 lakh onwards (ex-Delhi), the 2017 Honda City gets a tweaked exterior and an updated interior. The company has also added a new top-of-the-line ZX variant while the S is the new base variant instead of the previous E, and will be offered with a petrol motor only. The other trims - the V, VX and ZX - will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. This facelifted version will be available across the company's dealerships from today, stated the company.

While the previous model looked like an evolution of the dolphin model, the 2017 Honda City takes its design cues from the new-gen Honda Civic. The redesigned front profile features LED headlights with DRLs, similar to that of the Honda Accord Hybrid, along with LED fog lamps, making it a first in the segment. To the side, the top trims feature new diamond-cut 16-inch alloys, bigger than the 15-inch offered in the previous iteration. Honda has retained the dimensions of the sedan as the 2017 City continues to measure 4,440mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,495mm in height. The wheelbase too remains unchanged at 2,600mm. The rear profile too gets a subtle update in the form of LEDs in the lights as well as on the boot lid-mounted spoiler.

The lower trims such as the S, SV and the V feature 8.9cm LCD screen with aux-in and USB. In terms of safety, Honda has made features like LED DRLs, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix mounts for child seats standard across the range. The ZX trim gets additional front and side curtain airbags, making it six in total.

The petrol motor puts out 117PS/145Nm, whereas the diesel makes 99PS/200Nm.
