Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has launched the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT facelift in India at a lower-than-before price of Rs 4.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the base K2 petrol variant and Rs 5.39 lakh for the base K2 diesel. The NXT is a cosmetic refresh model of the sub-4 metre KUV100 which was launched in January 2016. It has 40 new features, based on the customer feedback said Pawan Goenka, MD of M&M. Launched just 21 months after its earlier iteration, the KUV100 NXT is being offered in five variants, and eight colour options. It is the smallest SUV in the Mahindra lineup. Mahindra dealerships across India have already begun accepting bookings of the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT, and it had already been spotted at some Mahindra dealerships. With the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT, you get a 25mm longer vehicle at 3,700mm with other specifications remaining the same as the outgoing model. Also standard now is the 6-seater configuration, with the 5-seater becoming an option. Being a unique offering, currently, the KUV100 competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Hyundai Grand i10, Volkswagen Ameo, and Ford Figo Aspire. The company however is pitting higher variants of the KUV100 NXT compact SUV against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the recently launched Tata Nexon.

The 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT also gets 15-inch dual tone diamond-cut alloy wheels as well as darkened rear door handles next to the C-pillar for a sportier look. On the safety front, Mahindra has eliminated all non-safety variants of the KUV100 NXT, except the base K2 variant.

The 2017 Mahindra KUV100 facelift has two different trims for the lower-spec and premium variants. The mid-level and top-spec variants also receive a floating 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration.

Both these engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. New to the Mahindra KUV100 is micro hybrid start-stop technology which gives a 3 to 4 per cent increase in fuel efficiency.
