The facelifted Datsun Go hatchback and Datsun Go+ MPV have been launched in Indonesia. The most notable addition is that of the CVT in the Go.
Exterior changes in both cars are largely similar. The facelift gets a new grille, slightly tweaked headlamps, new housings for the LED DRLs and reworked bumpers front and back. The car can also be equipped with a body kit that adds a decorative front splitter and rear diffuser as well as side skirts. The outside mirrors now also have integrated turn indicators and a large rear spoiler. The Go+ differentiates itself with larger grey inserts on the front and rear bumpers. A new 14-inch alloy wheel design rounds off the changes.

The interiors of the new cars get a redesigned dashboard with new squared off AC-vents, a tweaked instrument cluster with a tachometer and a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Indonesian market Go gets an all-black interior while the Go+ gets beige panelling inside.

In terms of standard features, the Datsun Go gets a gear shift guide, power windows on all doors, power steering, AC with heater, an amplifier with two speakers in the front and a mobile docking station which comes with an Aux-in, a USB port and an accessory socket for the lower spec cars. Safety features are still below par with one airbag and ABS being available on the Indonesian car.

Mechanically the cars remain unchanged with slight changes being made to improve refinement. The 2018 Datsun GO MT and 2018 Datsun GO+ (MT) use the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68PS and 104 Nm. The 2018 Datsun GO CVT gets a 10PS power bump from the same 1.2-litre engine and now develops 78 PS and 104 Nm of torque.
Prices for the Datsun Go start at IDR 102,990,000 (Rs 4.92 lakh) while the Go+ is priced from IDR 112,380,000 (Rs 5.37 lakh).

The Datsun Go, if launched with an automatic transmission in India, will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto AMT and the Renault Kwid AMT, among others. The Datsun Go has impressed with its low price point and this new facelift will give the car a more upmarket look and the convenience that comes with an auto. But Datsun could do well to improve on the Go's safety features, given the present car's questionable safety proposition.
