Porsche has launched the facelifted Porsche Macan SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 69.98 lakh. This is for the base version, the higher S trim costs Rs 85.03. Both prices are ex-showroom India. We've driven the SUV a few months ago, you can read it here or watch below.

The Macan was launched globally in 2016 first, with the facelifted model debuting internationally last year. The car gets some styling changes and quite a few tech updates. The front gets a slightly smaller, sharper LED headlamps and a new grille layout with larger intakes. The Macan was the first to get the new 3D-effect LED tail lamps and the conjoining LED strip. Four new exterior colours have also been added – Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Miami Blue and Crayon.

The interiors get bigger changes. There's a new, larger 11-inch infotainment screen, the new steering wheel from the 911 with the drive modes housed in it can be optioned. There is also a new design for the centre console and semi-digital instrument cluster. The new infotainment comes with online navigation and Connect Plus.

The base Macan gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 245PS and 370Nm. Porsche claims this is good to get the 5-seat SUV to 100kmph from a standstill in 6.7s and reach a top speed of 225kmph. The Macan S takes things up a notch, you get the new 3.0-litre V6 from the latest Cayenne which makes 354PS and 480Nm. This drops the 0-100kmph time to 5.3s and goes on to a top speed of 254kmph. Technology aids like Porsche's active stability management system, AWD, height-adjustable air suspension and optional torque-vectoring add to this car's credentials. The S also gets updated brakes.

Porsche India has also debuted a new maintenance package called Crest Care with the new Macan. Two packages are available, Standard and Elite. This covers scheduled maintenance costs like servicing, parts and labour, and is valid at Porsche dealers a cross. The standard package for the Macan costs Rs 1.43 lakh, while the Elite costs Rs 5.34 lakh. This increases to Rs 1.52 lakh and Rs 5.56 lakh for the Macan S.

The Macan's closest rival in India is the slightly larger Jaguar F-Pace, while the Macan S competes with SUVs like the GLC 43 AMG. The Macan has been a big seller for Porsche in the last years, so much so that the firm has decided that the second-gen car will only come as an EV.
