MotoGP: Maverick Vinales signs with Movistar Yamaha for 2017


Maverick Vinales will make a move from Team Suzuki Ecstar to Movistar Yamaha for the 2017 MotoGP season. Vinales will replace three-time world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, who recently announced his move to Ducati for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The 21-year-old Spaniard, will partner Valentino Rossi for the next two MotoGP seasons.


Ford India recalls 48,700 EcoSport units

Ford India has issued two recalls affecting around 48,700 EcoSport units. The first recall of 48,000 units is for installing a new bundle clip on the fuel and brake lines. The second recall has been issued for 700 EcoSport units with a 60:40 rear folding seat. On these cars, the 40 per cent rear seat backrest might have been assembled with bolts that do not meet Ford’s material specifications potentially causing them to break.


Piaggio opens Motoplex store in Hyderabad


Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL) has inaugurated its second Motoplex outlet in India in association with M/S Shrey Automotive. Located at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, the Motoplex store is spread across an area of 4,134 sq. ft.  It was inaugurated by Stefano Pelle, managing director and CEO of PVPL. The company’s first Motoplex outlet was opened in Pune in November 2015.


General Motors to offer carbon-fibre wheels on performance cars

General Motors is planning to introduce carbon-fibre wheels on its performance cars such as the Corvettes, the Camaros and the Cadillacs as an optional equipment. The American car manufacturer is planning to tie-up with Carbon Revolution, the company which provides CF wheels to Ford for the GT and the Mustang Shelby GT350R models.
