Apple CarPlay available in as many as 30 cars in India

Cars! They're an important part of our life as well as for some of you. We spend at least 4-5 hours in a car daily - be it the regular commute to office and back or the for outings. Most of the cars now offer Apple CarPlay as an integral part of the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay basically mirrors the Apple iPhone's screen onto the car's touchscreen infotainment system. This includes the text messages, phone directory, audio books, now playing section, music, podcasts and usually the car manufacturer's logo which takes you to the emergency assistance section. In India, Apple CarPlay started with Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Thereafter the Maruti Ciaz too got it and it was subsequently rolled out to the other cars in Maruti's fleet like the Ignis, Vitara Brezza and now for the upcoming S-Cross facelift. With the all-new Apple iPhone 8 to be unveiled globally tonight and with a refreshed iOS, it is likely that there might be changes to the CarPlay system too. Apple Inc is expected host an event at approximately 23:30 or 11:30pm where the new iOS 11 and new hardware including the new iPhones, including a rumoured iPhone X is likely to debut. But while we wait to see what happens to CarPlay, take a look at the cars you can use it in right now, mostly on the top-spec trims.
