ARAI opens the doors of its Pune Facility to the public

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is a premier institution under the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises. It was established in 1966 and performs activities related to testing of automobiles and other connected industries according to the regulations and norms mentioned in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).

It is also an eco-friendly body and has been an active proponent of the green cause, also taking various measures to this effect. ARAI has state of the art infrastructure and highly qualified staff which provide technical expertise in certification, testing, R&D and homologation. Basically, every car that is on sale in India has to be homologated or green lighted that it meets our country's vehicular norms and the ARAI is the body that does that job

The management at ARAI has decided that the general public needs to be more aware of their organization and have allowed any Indian citizen above the age of 25 to visit the facility. The visit however will be limited to the third Saturday of every month. Only 100 people at a time will be allowed in batches of 50 for duration of two hours in the morning and evening. People interested can download the visit form from their website and email it to the concerned person named therein.

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), an R&D Institution of Automotive Industry under the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises, Government of India, has been in the forefront more than four decades for extending expertise to the Government and Industry on various issues related to automobiles. A Premier Research Institute, ARAI has been authorized by the Government of India to conduct various testing related activities of automobiles and allied industries as per the norms detailed in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR). Its existence since 1966, ARAI has really come a long way by constantly taking initiatives and measures towards helping the Nation in their pursuit to green revolution by reducing automobile emission. ARAI provides technical expertise in R & D, testing, certification, homologation and framing of vehicle regulations. A pro-environment Institution, ARAI has been awarded with ISO, OHSAS and NABL accreditations, which equipped state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and highly qualified manpower. To its credit, ARAI also has an Academy, where students from various Universities are being groomed for their Undergraduate and Post Graduate Courses. Though all activities are undertaken as confidential nature in ARAI, to make aware of the general public about ARAI Facility, the Management has decided to permit the common people from any walks of life to pay a visit to ARAI to understand themselves about ARAI. Accordingly the third Saturday of every month has been exclusively reserved for undertaking such visits. However, the maximum intake of visitors at one go would be 100 Nos., which would be in two batches of 50 each for a maximum duration of 2 hours in the morning and evening.
