Asia only 2012 Ducati Monster 795 unveiled
Ducati has finally revealed its low-cost motorcycle specially developed for the Asian market, the Ducati Monster 795. This is the first launch for Ducati outside Europe highliting the importance of the Asian market. The 795 is based on 696 model chassis and running gear but features the same 803cc motor available in the Ducati Monster 796. This helps it produce an identical 87PS. The other major changes that keep the price in check are the double sided swingarm and narrower 3-spoke alloy wheels. According to the Ducati website, the motorcycle is available in Thailand, China, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore. Howerver, there is no word on the official price and availability in India. But since the motorcycle will be assembled in Thailand with a few parts sourced locally, expect a drop by a huge margin bringing the price in the region of Rs 6 lakh or thereabouts.
