Audi will launch the Audi Q2 crossover in India on October 16. Bookings for the Audi Q2 have begun already for Rs 2 lakh and bookings can be made online or at Audi dealerships.
The Audi Q2 first debuted globally four years ago and will be the new entry-level Audi in the country, going up against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA. The Audi crossover is 4.21m long, 1.79 m wide and 1.54 m tall. wheelbase in 2.6m. India will get the pre-facelift version and the styling is similar to what you see in other contemporary Audis with small angular headlamps, a full face grille and triangular bumper inserts. The dominating factor in the profile is the bodyline that follows the contours of the car right from the headlamp to the rear. At the rear, there are again squarish tail lamps with a prominent bumper garnish.
The Q2 is a crossover that sits below the Q3 in the brand's line-up. This car has long been under consideration for our market and will be available in a single 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor. This is a variation of the same VW Group unit that debuted in the Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace making 190Ps and 320 Nm. This will pair with Audi's quattro AWD system via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Audi claims that the Q2 will do 0 to 100 kmph in 6.5s.
The interiors are a still the old-style layout, familiar to the one in the A3 sedan. There is the 12.3-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster, the turbine-like air vents and a free-standing 8.3-inch MMI display. Aside from the full LED lighting outside, expected features here are a height-adjustable driver's seat, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone airconditioning, Bang & Olufsen audio system, ambient lighting, wireless charging and even some form of connected-car tech. The Audi Q2 is being brought in as a CBU and should be available in a single high-spec version.
n an introductory offer, a five-year maintenance package, a 2+3 year extended warranty package and 2+3 years of road-assistance is included in the booking amount. Prices of the Audi Q2 are expected to be around Rs 35 lakh. This will be the fifth new model from Audi in the past year, the last one being the Audi RS Q8.
