Auto Expo 2016: Triumph to showcase new Bonneville range

Just two months back, Triumph unveiled the new generation of the Bonneville range at London where the new Street Twin, the T120/T120 Black and theThruxton/Thruxton R were showcased. All these motorcycles will now be showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo.

There are two new parallel twin 900cc and 1200cc engines that will be powering the new Bonneville range. Nothing has been carried from the earlier model as the new range gets revised styling, new chassis and better finish to make it appear more upmarket than before.

Triumph say the 2016 Bonneville range, including the Street Twin are all more supple than the outgoing bike, ride quality wise, and handling is neater and friendlier as well

The Street Twin is the range starter, and will feature the brand new 900cc parallel twin engine which makes 54PS and 80Nm. Ride by wire, traction control and ABS will be offered as standard equipment. (See our first ride review here)

The overall design of the T120 makes it more practical for long rides

The T120 and T120 Black, the replacement for the T100, will be positioned above the Street Twin and come with the high torque version of the 1200cc engine. This one makes 54 per cent more torque than the outgoing Bonnie at 105Nm. It draws inspiration from the original 1959 model with added bits of retro cool. The overall design also makes it more practical for long rides.

Like other R models in the Triumph line, the Thruxton R and the base Thruxton use the same "high power" specification of the new 1200cc parallel twin which puts out 112Nm

Sitting above all is the Thruxton, which is Triumph's modern interpretation of a café racer. The Thruxton gets a new look with a cleaner design. It gets the high power version of the 1200cc engine, which makes 62 per cent more torque at 112Nm. The Thruxton also gets an R version which looks the best in the line-up, especially with the golden upside-down fully adjustable Showa forks.

In case you want to customise your Bonneville, Triumph will offer 470 items as optional accessories. Triumph will also be offering sets of these accessories as 'inspiration' kits to create a specific look.

Triumph will reveal prices of the new Bonneville range on February 18, 2016.
