BMW X1 refresh breaks cover, official unveil at 2014 Detroit Auto Show
The refreshed X1 features subtle revisions to the exterior and interior and this new shade called Sparkling Brown metallic
The BMW X1 has been getting rather long in the tooth and there's sometime before we see the new FWD model that will be based on the new UKL1 platform underpinning the brand new Mini. Top keep things fresh until then BMW has given the X1 a subtle refresh.
Exterior changes include new air intakes in the front bumper. BMW will also offer day time running lamps as standard equipment. Smart looking V- spoke 17-inch rims and a new shade of brown sum up the changes. The changes aren't restricted to just the exterior and there's now a choice of interior trims like high gloss black, matt coral red or pearl gloss chrome. The bottom edge of the tailgate gets a chrome finisher. Perhaps the biggest change to the interior is the incorporation of the latest version of BMW's connected drive services. This allows users to use a range of mobile services through a SIM card installed in the vehicle. The system has both iPhone and Android connectivity. The engine and chassis remain the same and we will continue to get the X1 20d with a 2.0-litre 184PS diesel and an 8-speed auto that sends power to the rear wheels
Other details include new 17-inch wheels and a chrome finish on the boot sill
The refreshed X1 will be unveiled at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show alongside the recently unveiled M3 sports sedan and M4 sports coupe. We expect the compact SUV to go on sale in India soon after the international release.
