Brendt Buchmann appointed as Volkswagen group sales India director
Brendt Buchmann has been appointed as Volkswagen Group Sales India director (group service). His appointment will be effective from May 1, 2014.

Buchmann is an Austrian national and has a diploma in MBA. He has been in the automotive industry for over 20 years with 10 of them being spent at Audi in various management positions. He has previous experience in India where he handled a CKD project for Audi. Buchmann has worked as Audi's after sales manager for Austria, Switzerland and Germany. He has spent four years in Germany as Audi AG's head of service support.
The other 10 years were spent with the PSA Group in France where he was the director of parts and service for Peugeot and Citroen in Germany, Saarbrucken and Cologne. For a span of more than two years he also held the position of executive director and chairman of Retail Organization of Peugeot.
In his new role he will report to Thierry Lespiaucq, MD, Volkswagen Group Sales India and will manage technical service and warranty, parts operations and warehousing, vehicle logistics and training academy for sales and after sales.
Berndt Buchmann appointed as the new Head of Group After Sales, Volkswagen Group India
| Pune/Mumbai, April 16, 2014: Mr. Berndt Buchmann has been appointed as Director, Group Service of Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited with effect from 1st May 2014. As the Head of Group After Sales, he will be responsible for Parts Operations and Warehousing, Technical Service and Warranty, Training Academy for Sales and After Sales and Vehicle Logistics for Volkswagen Group Sales India. Mr. Berndt Buchmann (48), an Austrian national with Diploma in Master of Business Administration, has been in the automotive industry for over 20 years with rich experience in the areas of manufacturing, wholesale and retail. In his position as Head of After Sales, he will take over responsibility for Parts Operations and Warehousing, Technical Service and Warranty, Training Academy for Sales and After Sales and Vehicle Logistics at Volkswagen Group Sales India. Mr. Buchmann started his career with Audi AG in Ingolstadt/Germany. He spent 10 years at Audi where he held various management positions. Mr. Buchmann started off in the field of Pre-series Production and Program Readiness and then continued in various areas such as running a CKD project for Audi AG in India and After Sales Manager for Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Mr. Buchmann then headed Service Support Germany for Audi AG for over four years. During the last 10 years, Mr. Buchmann was a part of the PSA Group, France where he held the position of Director Parts and Service for Peugeot and Citroen in Germany, Saarbrücken and Cologne. Amongst others, he was also the Executive Director and Chairman, Retail Organization of Peugeot in Berlin for two and a half years. In his new role as Head of Group After Sales, Mr. Buchmann will be reporting to Mr. Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited. | |
