BSVI Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF launched, priced at Rs 1.12 lakh and Rs 1.22 lakh respectively
Suzuki Motorcycles has launched the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF which were showcased at the Auto Expo that took place in February in Greater Noida. The Gixxer is priced at Rs 1,11,900 and the Gixxer SF at Rs 1,21,900, ex-showroom. The Gixxer SF MotoGP edition costs Rs 1,22,900, ex-showroom. The prices have increased by Rs 12,000.
Both motorcycles get the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 13.6PS at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm at 6,000 rpm. The power and torque output have decreased marginally from 14.1PS and 14Nm on both motorcycles. Apart from updating the engine to BSVI norms, everything else remains unchanged.
Commenting on the launch of the BSVI compliant Gixxer series, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "We feel proud to announce the launch of our BSVI compliant Gixxer series, ahead of the regulation deadline. Suzuki Motorcycle India has plans to grow at a robust pace with its flagship brand, Gixxer. Both BSVI compliant Gixxer SF and Gixxer, designed keeping the Indian customers in mind, have become even more environment-friendly without compromising on the overall power and performance."
The Gixxers compete with the Yamaha FZS-Fi and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
