Ceat Monsoon Smart campaign started in India

Ceat has launched the second edition of the Monsoon Smart campaign in India. Ceat’s initiative focuses on road safety for motorists, allowing them to be equipped for the monsoon.

The Indian tyre company will be setting up 232 tyre clinics for educating riders on road safety. They can also get tyres checked for overall health and functionality. Ceat will also be identifying over four and a half lakh worn out tyres with their new ‘bike tagging’ program. Tagging, they claim, will help reduce incidence of accident caused by wet weather.

Ceat Tyre Assist, a free android app from the company will be helping riders locate their bikes in crowded parking lots. They’re also giving out emergency numbers for Ceat call centres and the police along with helplines for finding out recommended tyre pressures and tips for keeping tyres in shipshape condition.

Safe driving and maintenance of tyres should be top priority during monsoons, and CEAT wishes to spread this message with our annual Monsoon Smart campaign. We got great response to the campaign last year and we plan to reach out to riders across the country through this initiative.”

Leading Indian tyre manufacturer, CEAT Ltd has launched the second edition of the successful “Monsoon Smart Campaign”. The campaign addresses the issue of road safety for motorists and focuses on initiatives that allow commuters to be better prepared for Monsoons.
CEAT has created a nationwide ‘Bike Tagging’ programme to identify and tag over four-and-a-half lakh worn out/ bald tyres. As a crucial part of the Monsoon Smart campaign, bike tagging will help increase awareness about the necessity for healthy tyres that will help reduce accidents which drastically increase during this season. In addition to that, 232 Free Tyre Clinics will be set up at high traffic zones across different cities and towns, in colleges and petrol pumps to educate riders about road safety and the benefits of Superior Grip. The riders will also get an opportunity to get their bikes checked for wear and tear as well as assistance to replace their tyres.

Additionally, CEAT will also have ‘CEAT Tyre Assist’, a monsoon assist mobile app, offering end-to-end solutions for all tyres and bikers. This android-enabled free app helps bikers by assisting them in locating where their vehicle is parked. The app also provides emergency contacts of police and CEAT call centres, dealer locator which is integrated with Google maps, tips on how to keep tyres in perfect condition, recommended tyre size and pressure. The app, developed by LogicTree IT, can be downloaded from Google Play on mobile phones and tablets using the Android OS.

This year, CEAT also plans on reaching out to the young motorists of the country with an interactive initiative across India’s top 30 colleges. With competitions such as Slow Biking, Tug of War and Unicycle Races they plan to spread the message of road safety and the importance of healthy tyres.
