Dacia Lodgy India-bound as a Renault
Renault confirmed that the Dacia Lodgy MPV with a light re-style and badge is coming to India. Bert drove the van briefly in Paris and noted that it feels typically van like. The seating is high, the visibility from the driver's seat is expansive and the dynamics are a bit dodgy! This is after all a van with a tall roofline and therefore, a high centre of gravity. Yet the suspension is well sorted out, so ride is comfortable and not stiff and the body remains reasonably within control. There is space to seat up to eight passengers with two bench seats for the second and third row.
The interior quality like the (Euro) Duster is faultless but it's not premium or luxurious. We expect the 110PS 1.5 dCI will power the car. Physically the van is just a bit smaller than the Innova and larger than the Ertiga. Expect it to be priced between Rs 7.5 to 9.5 lakh when it arrives, perhaps towards the end of 2013.
