Datsun Go cleared for a two-star rating by ASEAN NCAP
The Datsun Go, Nissan's entry into the A-Segment, got a two-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) in a crash test administered by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia). This crash test is targeted at the Indonesian market where the Go is sold. The Go got zero stars for AOP and two stars for COP in its previous crash test conducted by the Global NCAP. This time, however, Datsun has added a driver's side airbag and reinforced the Go's body shell, which led to the two-star rating.
The ASEAN NCAP website read, "This particular model is equipped with only one airbag as a standard variant. Go managed to score 6.82 points [out of 16] for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 46 per cent compliance for Child Occupant Protection (COP), both are within the two-star category. The hatchback utilises the Nissan March as its base and does not offer any Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Seatbelt Reminder (SBR) in any of its variants."
