Ducati Streetfighter V4, based on the Panigale, in works - reveal at EICMA 2019?

Ducati debuted into the four-cylinder superbike game with the Panigale V4, one of the most extreme performance based machines to have rolled out of the Ducati factory at Borgo Panigale. Similar to other Ducatis, this one, too, came with an exotic ready-to-be-a-wallpaper design paired with an army of electronics to make sure there is enough support for all your manoeuvring techniques. However, the most important aspect of the Panigale V4 is its engine. The Desmosedici Stradale V4 is a 4-cylinder and is very similar to the MotoGP engine. Right after the Panigale V4's launch, it became a popular topic if Ducati should consider making a naked powered by this engine, and that has actually happened. An all-new Ducati V4 streetfighter was recently spotted being tested on a race track. And from the looks of it, we believe it might take the centre stage at this year's EICMA show.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO, Ducati, had already mentioned that the company has plans of developing more motorcycles that will be powered by the Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine. The prototype motorcycle that was spied on the track does not reveal clear details, however, if you pay attention, it does look similar to the Panigale V4 in terms of dimensions sans the fairing. The headlight unit with the DRLs too seems to have been borrowed. Similarly, this one does not come with clip-ons but a handle bar like the Aprilia Tuono. And lastly, the exhaust unit looks way different when compared to that on the past generation. Instead of the twin-shotgun pipes, that was offered in the previous, this one gets a different design.

Also, from the images, one can see Ducati has camouflaged the area around the radiator which could be hiding the aero-aiding wings, similar to what we have seen on the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro. While the Panigale V4 is all about track performance, the Streetfighter V4 is more of a practical performance machine that one can live with. And that is the reason, one can see footpegs and a pillion seat. We believe the rear sub-frame could have been modified, too, to accommodate the additional weight of the pillion and also luggage mounts, which could be offered as accessory.

MCN reports that a different state of tune of the V4 Streetfighter could also replace the Monster. We have to wait till the end of this year and see if Ducati brings the production-ready model at the EICMA show. Could it be the most gorgeous and performance-spec street naked motorcycle ever? Let us know your expectations in the comments section below.
