Know how to top up your car coolant: DIY
There was a time when we used water to cool our cars. We've come a long way since then, as today modern engines require a more complex liquid with better cooling characteristics than water. The green toxic stuff that we pour into our car reservoir keeps engines running at optimum temperatures without blowing up. Milder but smoother than water, this is more greasy and takes the heat and transfers through air to the radiator.
Now before you pour in the liquid look out for the numbers on the reservoir itself, this tells you the minimum and maximum levels. Ensure that you don't pour in the coolant when the engine is still hot or running as hot coolant inside the engine can spurt out viciously leading to severe burns. And always remember to use a cloth while unscrewing the cap of the coolant reservoir.
