Fiat Avventura Urban Cross launched in India at Rs 6.85 lakh
Fiat India has launched its new offering in the crossover segment, the Avventura Urban Cross. Priced at Rs 6.85 lakh, the Avventura Urban Cross gets a tweaked design and updated interiors. The most important difference between the Urban Cross and the regular Avventura is that of a spare wheel. The Urban Cross doesn't get a spare wheel, weighing 40kg less than the regular offering. The Avventura Urban Cross is available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
The Avventura Urban Cross looks almost identical to the regular version. It gets a slightly updated front grille with piano black inserts and a new aluminium-finished skid plate. While the silhouette has been carried directly from the Avventura, it gets a brighter shade of roof rails. The petrol model gets the 16-inch Scorpion alloys, whereas the diesel models come with the same set that is offered on the Punto diesel, with a mild colour revision. Both the models, however, run on Goodyear 205/55 R16 tyres which are larger than Punto's 15-inch set.
Inside, the Avventura Urban Cross gets the same cabin layout as the Punto Evo. However, the colour combination used in these trims is brighter than that of the Avventura, making the cabin feel more airy and spacious. The seats are also finished in a dual-tone fabric.
The Emotion variant of the petrol model comes equipped with many bells and whistles, such as the multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and a rear AC vent. The diesel is offered in Active and Dynamic variants only. The top-of-the-line Dynamic variant misses on the above-mentioned comfort features. While these are more comfort and convenience-centric features, the diesel variants also miss out on a very important feature front airbags. The new 5-inch touchscreen system, a feature that has been introduced in the top trims of Punto and Linea, is offered as standard on the Emotion and Dynamic variants of the Avventura Urban Cross.
The Fiat Avventura Urban Cross petrol is powered by the same 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor that the company offers in the Punto and the Avventura Abarth. This motor makes 140PS and 210Nm. The diesel Avventura Urban Cross uses the same 93PS/209Nm, 1.3-litre Multijet engine that has been doing the duty in the other derivatives. We have already driven both these offerings.
