Fiat has started accepting bookings at Rs 50,000 for the Abarth Punto Evo that will be launched within a month. We drove a prototype of this car earlier and found out just how capable it is around the track.
To help differentiate it from the standard Punto Evo externally, the Abarth will get new alloys, different colour schemes and sufficient Abarth badging all around. The interiors are virtually the same as the standard Punto Evo in terms of space and utilities. However, the Abarth Punto Evo does get new upholstery with contrast stitching, lightweight racing pedals, an Abarth badge on the steering wheel and Abarth scuff plates. What really sets it apart though is its powertrain a 145PS 1.4-litre turbo charged engine mated to a 5-speed manual that powers the front wheels. The expected ex-showroom price for the Punto Abarth Evo is less than Rs 10 lakh.
