At the upcoming Paris Motor Show on September 27, Fiat will be showcasing the new Panda 4x4. The 4x4 Panda will have 15-inch alloy wheels, skirting and black trim with skid plates of the contrasting type at both in the front and back., fog lamps and a raised muffler. It also gets new colour schemes like Silica orange and Toscana metallic green with options for three-colour seats in the interiors. There is also a MP3 player, eco-leather detailing and remote central locking.

For the Panda 4x4, Fiat has retained the 75PS multijet and 0.9-litre 85PS TwinAir Turbo engines, fitted with stop/start systems. Both the engines are mated to a special six-speed gearbox with low-range first gear. Power is sent to all four wheels via an electronically-controlled coupling which manages the differentials. In addition, when wheel slip is detected, the Electronic Locking Differential applies the brake to each wheel individually. A torsion beam at the rear and MacPhersons at the front complete the suspension setup.

In addition to the 4x4, Fiat will be launching the Panda line-up in two more variants â€" Trekking and Natural Power. The two-wheel drive Trekking will combine the looks of the 4x4 version with Traction+ technology which improves the handling on slippery surface. A dual fuel (methane and petrol) TwinAir Turbo engine powers the Natural Power variant.
