General Motors India celebrates World Environment Day by organising various activities related to environment safety and conservation. The automaker organised other initiatives like conservation tips to customers, sapling distribution, tree plantations and awareness rallies. According to GM, these drives is to create awareness among motorists to reduce their carbon footprint and even provide knowledge for maintenance of their vehicles. A total of 159 dealerships would be participating in the drive. GM India would also be working towards lakes and lake maintenance awareness in Bangalore, where the carmaker will allow participants to play the role of environmental stewards.

Swati Bhattacharya, vice president, corporate communications, General Motors India, said, “General Motors has always been committed to its care for the environment, and it is our endeavour to enhance public awareness towards key environmental issues. These activities reiterate GM’s continuing commitment towards a clean and green environment initiative.”

The GM India Talegaon plant would be celebrating World Environment Day from 31st May to 15th June 2016.
