General Motors India, will recall 1.55 lakh cars to fix a wiring problem relating to the remote keyless entry feature that could malfunction and lock the customer out. This is one of India's largest recalls and is the second time that GM is making one of this scale.1.14 lakh Taveras were recalled in 2013 due to problems linked to emission standards and other regulatory specifications.
GM stated that it will recall all Chevrolet Beats, Enjoys and Sparks manufactured between 2007 and 2014 and fitted with the keyless entry feature. While the company recently launched the updated Captiva and Cruze along with the Enjoy, the all-new models, the Trailblazer and the Spin MPV will be in showrooms in the next couple of months. The all-new Chevrolet Cruze will however be on sale only by 2017.
