Harley-Davidson India launches 2017 model line-up
Harley-Davidson has just launched its 2017 model line-up for India. The new additions this year, which are part of the brand's touring line-up, are the Harley-Davidson Roadster and the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. All 13 of the 2017 models, which include the Harley-Davidson Street 750, will also get ABS as standard.
The two new bikes in India â" the Roadster and the Road Glide Special â" will run Harley-Davidson's latest engine, the Milwaukee-Eight. The 'Eight' represents the eight-valve set-up (four valves per cylinder) featured in this engine. The Milwaukee-Eight 107, which is an oil-cooled 1,745cc engine, will power the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special, the Road Glide Special and the Road King models. The twin-cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114, which is a liquid-cooled 1,870cc engine, powers the CVO Limited. The engines are said to offer 10 per cent more torque and better heat management thanks to a redesigned exhaust system.
Harley-Davidson has also stated that all the motorcycles in its 2017 touring line-up will get new front and rear suspension. According to them, the emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers provide 15 to 30 per cent more pre-load adjustment. The front suspension will get new Showa SDBV suspension technology which provides "linear damping characteristics and reduced weight".
