Harley-Davidson Street 750 is the Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2015
The Harley-Davidson Street 750 bagged the eighth Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) award. This year, there was an assortment of bikes from different segments competing for the title. On one end was the Bajaj Discover 150F and on the other extreme was the furious Triumph Daytona 675R, making the selection process truly excruciating for the jury.

The top three contenders for the IMOTY 2015 too were from different segments - namely the Harley-Davidson Street 750, KTM RC 390 and Suzuki Gixxer. Raghupati Singhania, chairman and managing director, JK Tyre and Aspi Bhathena, chairman, IMOTY 2015 presented the award to Anoop Prakash, managing director, Harley-Davidson India.
The Harley-Davidson Street 750 had a lot going for it - for starters, the pricing. India is a price conscious market and getting a Harley-Davidson for around Rs 4.3 lakh (ex-showroom) sounded too good to be true. During our first ride at Delhi, we felt that the bike rides well and it takes a bit of time to appreciate how well - it also handled better than we anticipated, so there was little not to like.

The IMOTY is selected after considering various parameters. These includes the price, mileage, looks, comfort, safety, performance, practicality and technical innovation, to name a few. The Royal Enfield Continental clinched the title last year. Other bikes winning the award previously include the KTM 200 Duke in 2013 and the Honda CBR 250R in 2012.
The list of contenders also included the Hyosung Aquila GV250, Kawasaki ER-6n, Kawasaki Z250, KTM RC 200, Triumph Bonneville T100, Triumph Street Triple and Triumph Thruxton.
