Honda is taking various steps lately to promote road safety in India. They have launched traffic-parks in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack that will help females to learn riding in a single day, and they have also made a sand sculpture in Puri to promote road safety.

The primary purpose of traffic parks is to promote road safety. They have a variety of activities for children as well. There will be a primary school activity for children in the 5-8 age group and a CRF 50 model for children aged between 9 and 12. Riders above the age of 18 will be given theoretical sessions and the riding trainers will help them with to cope with the riding hazards.

Honda had opened its first park in Jaipur and then Delhi. About 53,000 people have been trained at these parks. Honda says that people really appreciated the efforts that Honda had put in and this motivated them to open two new ones in Odisha.

Yadvinder S. Guleria, VP-sales and marketing, Honda, said, "From more than a decade, Honda has been promoting safe riding activities across India. The basic issue is not only infrastructure but mindset of the road users. That is why the sea change cannot be brought overnight. It requires active participation from the Corporate, Government, and society at large. As a good corporate citizen Honda understands its responsibility to contribute towards road safety promotion, keeping in mind the Indian traffic conditions and this Park is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders."

The role of a sand sculpture in changing mindsets wouldn't be much but it is a great piece of art. It has been made by Padma Shree award winner Sudarsan Pattanaik. Almost 10 tons of sand was used to make the 9ft tall and 22ft wide sculpture.
