Honda Activa is India's best selling two-wheeler in March 2015
Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India Private Limited (HMSI) has announced that its Activa is India's number one selling two wheeler model in March 2015. The Japanese company stated that the automatic scooter was the only two-wheeler to cross the two lakh units mark in March 2015.
In terms of sales, the scooter gained 30 per cent in sales volumes, which is over 5 lakh additional units. HMSI sells three scooters with the Activa badge - the 3G, i and 125.
Speaking about the achievement, Yadvinder S. Guleria- senior vice president, sales & marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd said, "This achievement is more significant since Activa has displaced a motorcycle for the numero uno position in the Indian two-wheeler industry. In the journey of becoming India's number one selling two-Wheeler, Activa has broken the glass ceiling as the only automatic scooter to feature in the top 10 selling two-wheelers in India. Today, Activa is not only a market leader but more importantly the growth driver of automatic scooter segment growing by a stellar 30 per cent and surpassing the automatic segment growth of 25 per cent in FY 2014-15."
The Activa competes with the likes of the Suzuki Access, Hero Maestro and Yamaha Alpha.

Honda's Activa domestic sales stood at 207,270 units in March'15 - leading with a clear margin. Noteworthy, that Activa is the Only Automatic scooter (ATSC) to feature among the Top 10 selling 2wheelers of India in FY'14-15. Among the Top 10 selling 2wheelers of India in FY'2014-15, Activa reigns supreme as both the 'Highest volume Gainer' adding 5.04 lac incremental units and 'Highest percentage gainer' gaining 30% sales volumes.
