It's only been a week since the launch of the Mobilio MPV in India, and Honda is already having to grapple with a tremendous demand for the car. In light of these developments, Honda has now dedicated its Greater Noida facility solely towards the production of the Mobilio and has shifted the manufacturing of the new City to its Tapukara plant.

Word on the street says that as of now, more than 10,000 Mobilios have been booked. The Tapukara plant currently operates on a single shift and has an annual capacity of 1,20,000 units per annum. Production of the new Honda City has been temporarily stopped for the same reason. Production will resume in September at its newly designated facility in Tapukara.

We have received an overwhelming response to both the City and the Mobilio, and it is necessary to maximise production at both the plants for the benefit of the customer."
