Honda, Nissan, Mahindra, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Hero revise vehicle prices
Most Indian car makers have decided to give the full benefit of the cuts in excise duty on vehicles to their customers. The central government recently slashed excise duty on motorcycles and cars in the Interim Budget 2014.
Earlier today, we had reported the revised prices by Nissan India. Click here for the revised price list of the entire Nissan range. Now Honda, Volkswagen, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp are among several other car manufacturers who have released revised prices.
Honda Car India
Honda Car India announced the price cuts in its car line-up in the range of Rs 14,650 to Rs 44,741, effective immediately.
Jnaneswar Sen, SVP Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, "We welcome this move by the government. The reduction in duty will give the necessary boost to consumer demand and fuel growth in the auto industry. We are happy to pass on the benefit of the duty reduction to our customers."

Mahindra
Mahindra has reduced the prices of its passenger vehicle ranging from Rs 13,000 to Rs 49,000. The company will also reduce prices of its premium SUV, the Rexton, by up to Rs 92,000.
Volkswagen
Prices for the Volkswagen Polo have been reduced by Rs 18,000-Rs 31,000. For the Vento, prices have been reduced by Rs 14,500-Rs 27,000. Jetta prices have been reduced by Rs 38,000-Rs 51,000.
Arvind Saxena, MD, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said, "We welcome the government's decision to reduce excise duty on cars and we at Volkswagen have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers. We hope this move will help improve the market sentiment in the automotive industry."
Hyundai
Hyundai too has issued a statement saying that it will pass the full reduction of excise tax benefit to its customers. The price deduction benefit will be applicable to all the models from Eon to Santa Fe and the quantum will vary from Rs 10,000-1,35,300 across all the models.
Motorcycles
Among motorcycle manufactures, DSK and Honda Motorcycles already announced price reduction yesterday. On Wednesday, Hero MotoCorp annouced that it has "judiciously spread out the price cut across our product portfolio ranging from 2% going up to 5% with the maximum reduction being Rs 4500".
