Honda's production-spec Urban SUV (the Vezel) unveiled, coming to India by 2015
The Vezel stays true to the Urban SUV Concept
On the opening day of the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda has unveiled the Vezel, a production version of its Urban SUV Concept that it unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show last January. The Vezel will be launched in Japan on December 20 this year, while an Indian and European launch seems likely some time in 2015.

This compact SUV takes a lot of styling cues from its bigger sibling the CR-V with similar lines and rear sloping roof line. The SUV is based on the new Jazz platform. In India it will compete with the likes of the Renault Duster, the Nissan Terrano and the Ford EcoSport. It will most likely get the 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill from the Amaze for the diesel version and the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol from the City. Honda may also consider the new turbocharged, high output 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine for the Vezel. There is also a hybrid version but whether or not it will make to India is still unknown.
