Hyundai Elantra facelift launched at Rs 15.89 lakh, ex-showroom
Hyundai Motors India has launched the refreshed Elantra sedan in India, with prices starting at Rs 15.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The Elantra, now in its sixth-generation, is now only available with a BSVI-compliant 2-litre petrol engine, with either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed torque converter. With these updates, including packaging connected car technology, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra is better placed to take on rivals, like the Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis.

The refreshed Elantra follows in the footsteps of recent Hyundais with their Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design, with a large single-piece cascading grille. Particular attention has been paid to the sharper, triangular shaped headlights outlined by the LED daytime running lights, with quad LED projector lighting. Reprofiled bumpers front and rear, along with new wraparound tail lights with LED elements, as well as an updated design for the 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the updated Elantra now offers wireless phone charging, in addition to the ventilated seats functionality carried forward, making it the only one in its segment to come with both. It also offers Hyundai's Blue Link connected car technology powered by a Vodafone e-SIM, as seen on the Venue, which includes the full telematics suite and safety and convenience features. It will also offer an electric sunroof, 10-way powered driver's seat, cruise control and more. As far as safety features go, standard is a notable six airbags, ABS, EBD and rear parking sensors. Front parking sensors are also available.
As for the choice of powertrain under the hood the updated Elantra is only available with a BSVI-compliant version of the 2-litre petrol engine as available earlier, which continues to output 152PS@6,200rpm and 192Nm@4,000rpm. Two transmission choices are available a 6-speed manual transmission, or 6-speed automatic. Both have ARAI certified fuel efficiency figures of 14.6kmpl. The updated Elantra comes with a 3 year/unlimited kilometre warranty and 3 years of roadside assistance.
