Image gallery: 2016 Mahindra Bolero Power+ review
Mahindra has recently opened sales of the new Bolero Power+ in India. The new Bolero Power+ is not only shorter than before but also a tad lighter. There is also an all-new engine borrowed from the TUV300 in a detuned state. Mahindra have also priced the new Bolero at nearly Rs one lakh less than the older car. Mahindra says that the older Bolero has its own charm and will continue to sell alongside the newer variant. A look at the 'new' Bolero and you will be hardpressed to know the difference between the older one and this, apart from the Power+ badges. Here are a couple of images from our road test (which will also be up soon).
We have said it before. The car looks exactly the same like the earlier version
Notice closely and you can see the bumper curving inward than the jutting unit earlier
The step rail for the rear passengers has also been very cleverly pushed inward to duck under the 4m mark
This is the only perceptible change on the outside, the Power+ badge. There however is a smaller yet more powerful engine under the hood
This is the star of the show. The 70PS/195Nm 1.5-litre 3-cylinder is very refined and has loads of pulling power
The interior is crude but functional. It isn't well put together as well. Creature comforts include an airconditioner and a Bluetooth-enabled audio system. Above the music system is the driver information display which gives you the average efficiency, gear and time
The Bolero hates corners and will make you feel nervous if you are driving one at a higher speed than you usually should with this top heavy SUV
