Royal Enfield Himalayan (29)

This is the Royal Enfeld Himalayan in near-final specification. Note the two-part split mudgaurd with an upper beak and a lower back half. This image, from Siddarth Lal’s blog on the Times Of India doesn’t include the two heat shields visible on other bikes with branding.

This is a shot at the Madras Motor Race Track outside Chennai. The tyres are Ceat Gripps. Note the simple tail end – other bikes feature a luggage rack that is probably going to be a purchaseable accessory

No, the GPS won’t be standard equipment. But the instrument cluster is interesting. Note the simpe switchgear and an equally simple, almost spindly looking top triple clamp

Royal Enfield Himalayan (34)

This Royal Enfield Himalayan is in near-final shape. Note that the lower front mudguard is a full unit. Also note that the head lamp and instruments are mounted on the little subframe that goes to the front of the tank. As such, the head light is fixed and doesn’t turn with the bars. Also note good looking Himalayan logo on the side panel and you can clearly make out the Ceat logo on the rear tyre

This is a very early prototype and this shot is probably from the Bruntingthrope Proving Ground. Note the trellis style subframe that gave way to a simpler design later on. Also note that the linkage-type rear monoshock was part of the design from very early on

The subframe is meant to mount luggage on. The frame as well as luggage will be part of an extensive Royal Enfield Himalayan accessories line up
