Kawasaki has given the ER-6f a complete makeover along with substantial mechanical updates and introduced it as the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 at the Intermot 2016. The new Ninja 650 is expected to be launched in India during April-June next year. The 2017 Ninja 650 gets an all-new steel trellis frame which as per Kawasaki weighs only 15kg. The 649cc parallel twin motor has been retuned to improve torque delivery at low and mid range and is Euro-IV compliant. Here are a few images of the new Kawasaki Ninja 650.
The engine gets longer header pipes, 36mm throttle bodies, new air-box along with a new intake and exhaust cams
It gets a new suspension with 41mm telescopic forks at the front and four-piston Nissin calipers
The chassis update suggests that it is a more serious sport tourer motorcycle
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch as standard
