Benelli has just re-entered the country as Benelli India. The QianJiang (QJ) Group owned company has announced Hyderabad-based Mahavir Group subsidiary Adishwar Auto Ride International (AARI) as its new India partner. Benelli India will now set up a new facility at Medichal, Pochampally near Hyderabad. Under this new partnership, one of the first new motorcycles to be launched in the country will be the Benelli TRK 502. There had been much anticipation since the first time the adventure tourer was unveiled at EICMA. Benelli India has now stated that as part of its aggressive product strategy, the TRK 502 as well as its more off-road oriented version the TRK 502 X, and two versions of the Leoncino 500 scrambler, will arrive in India before the year ends.
Here is a closer look at Benelli TRK 502
The Benelli TRK 502 comes powered by a 500cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with electronic fuel injection (EFI) and double overhead camshaft
According to its claimed fuel efficiency, the TRK is capable of 25.64kmpl. Couple that with its 20-litre tank and you have a 513km range on a full tank

In terms of looks, the TRK 502 appears hefty and nothing justifies its 235kg kerb weight, which surpasses that of a BMW by 1kg
The design looks appealing and seems inspired by various larger capacity touring motorcycles.
It has a seat height of 800mm, which should make it easily accessible to a variety of riders including those new to the Adv category
The TRK features a digital-analogue instrumentation cluster sitting behind a tall windscreen
Since the TRK 502 is more touring oriented, the wheels are both 17-inchers and made from aluminum alloy. It features 120/70-17 and 160/60-17 tyres
