India-spec Ford EcoSport shown
Ford's EcoSport is one of the most widely anticipated car launches this year in India. The manufacturer is leaving no stone unturned in building up the excitement with new ad campaigns and customer interactions. Now, they have showcased the India-spec EcoSport in12 select cities across the country. Prior to the launch of the mini-SUV in May-June, there will be a customer experience drive where 100 people will get to drive the car.
Ford has confirmed that the EcoSport in India will be available in a choice of four trims with three engines which include two petrols and one diesel. While the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will be a straight lift from the Fiesta sedan, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is all-new for the Indian market. All the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual while the 1.5l petrol will also come with an automatic option. The top end variant will come with all the goodies that one expects from Ford including an interactive Sync infotainment system, push-button start and parking sensors.
We expect Ford to price the EcoSport in the Rs 5-8 lakh bracket.
