India to gift 630 Mahindra vehicles to Nepal

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) recently announced that it has been awarded an order by the Government of India (GOI) to supply a fleet of more than 630 vehicles.

These vehicles were ordered by the GoI to gift to the Government of Nepal to help with their upcoming Constitutional Assembly elections. They will be utilised by the security forces, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and as part of the convoy during the elections. The fleet will be delivered to the Election Commission and the Home Ministry in Nepal. The Nepal elections are scheduled on November 19, 2013.

Mahindra offers commercial pick-up trucks, buses, trucks, utility vehicles such as the Scorpio, Bolero, XUV500, Quanto and now the electric car E2O. Although details about the 630 vehicles being provided have not been mentioned, we can assume that it largely comprises utility vehicles to tighten security for events and convoys.

Mahindra is partnered by Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd. in Nepal. Agni is headed by Cabinet Shrestha. It is responsible for growing the sales and service network of the brand in Nepal.

Mahindra recently launched the W4 variant of its premium SUV, the XUV500.
