It’s finally time to celebrate for Indian rally fans. The Asia Pacific Rally Championship finally makes a return to India. It has been confirmed that the FIA APRC season finale in 2016 will be held at Chikmagalur. This news comes in after Chikmagalur hosted a round of the Asia Cup, the season finale, earlier this month.

In fact the Chikmagalur Rally, organised by the Motor Sports Club of Chikmagalur (MSCC) was observed at the end of 2013 as a contender for the Asia Cup. And the Asia Cup, held this year, was observed as a contender for the APRC. And with the event running smoothly, and all things going according to plan, things have finally fallen into place.

The finale of the 2016 APRC, to be held in the massive private coffee plantations in Chikmagalur, will be conducted between the 10th and 11th of December, 2016. However, the official date is yet to be confirmed by the FIA.

“I am really proud that the Café Coffee Day Rally has been put on the APRC calendar as the final round of the Championship in 2016. It’s an event that has evolved into running one of the best rounds of our Indian Rally Championship consistently. Running a good international event needs many ingredients and good leader who will stitch it all together. Between a strong consistent and fully supporting sponsor Café Coffee Day, organising club Motorsport Club of Chikmaglur (MSCC) and a great leader in Farooq Ahmed they have all their bases covered. I am certain this event will become a regular feature on the APRC calendar for many years,” said Zayn Khan, president of the FMSCI.
