So the world didn't end. So the Mayans pulled a fast one on us. But we, at OVERDRIVE, don't let minor hassles like the end of the world come in our way of bringing out another action packed issue. So what do we have between the covers this January?

Just in case the world decided to ends again, you need a vehicle that will take you to higher ground and Bert recommends the new Range Rover as an option after he waded through water with it and took it, or rather it took Bert, to places where few other vehicles can go. But importantly it took Bert to those places in utmost style and comfort. Meanwhile, Shumi was in Canada, testing the slipperiness of the snow in the new Land Rover Freelander 2. He also learnt a few 'cheat codes' about the Freelander 2.

Halley, slightly concerned about the world ending, decided to go see the Taj Mahal. He hadn't seen it yet and so took a Mercedes B-Class to see India's most famous tourist attraction is all its glory. The B-Class is a sports tourer. So after the touring was done, Halley took it to the Buddh International Circuit for a spin and came back with a smile. Abhay did something similar. He didn't go to the Taj Mahal but he lived with the Ducati 848 Evo for a week in Delhi and then took it for a spin on the BIC. Needless to say, he still hasn't stopped smiling. And to add a little icing, we also have a comparision between the 848 Evo and the Streetfighter 848. What would you pick?

The BMW 640d is gorgeous and now we have the BMW 640d Gran Coupe, the first four door coupe from this German manufacturer. Halley got his hands behind the wheel of this one and comes back impressed. Really impressed.

Ashok, our in house Chevy fan (huge fan), the Sail U-VA and came back... Read the issue to know more. Bert also went on a holiday to Scotland. No. No. He didn't go for the Scotch whisky. He didn't see the Loch Ness monster. But he saw a gazillion more things and is in love with the place. Not wanting to be left behind, Rishaad, Alan, Varun and Anand went on an eight-day trip on the 5846km Golden Quadrilateral highway in a Renault Scala and Duster. The pictures itself tell you the amazing time they had.

But the biggest news for us automobile fans is the news that Jeep is now officially coming to India. The Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee will be coming next year. And to make matters more interesting, there are plans of bringing in Abarth and Mopar too. Exciting times ahead. In the world of two wheels, Royal Enfield's Cafe Racer is a much-awaited product and the technical details have been released. 535cc, 36PS and it will be lighter than the Classic by 21kg. Interested?

In motorsport we have a season review for both four wheels - F1 and two â€" MotoGP. And more news and opinions. All in all, it's an issue where we haven't left any attempt to ensure that you guys have a rollicking start to 2013. We surely did.

A Happy New Year to one and all.
