The new 'ADAC JUNIOR CUP POWERED BY KTM' was introduced at the 2013 MotoGP at Sachsenring, Germany. KTM and ADAC have presented the KTM RC 390 as the new motorcycle for the Brand Cup specifically for young wannabe racers.

The RC bike has a solid core â€" single cylinder, four stroke, 375 cc engine, four valve technology, liquid cooled, two oil pumps and electronic Dellorto fuel injection that will deliver around 38PS of peak power.

Structurally, the RC 390 gets a high quality chassis that's very familiar â€" by the looks of it, a 390 Duke chassis with the rear sub-frame exposed. This lightweight tubular steel provides precise handling and stability. WP-manufactured high-quality suspension elements, KTM-developed performance powerparts and a heavy-duty four piston caliper braking system complete the bike, specifically targeted at the young racer.

The RC 390 will meet asphalt for the very first time as the exclusive motorcycle to be used in the cup. We already know that there will be a faired version of the 390 Duke available in India in 2014; this may well be a teaser for things to come.

"We developed a pure GP racing machine for the Moto3 World Championship. In contrast, the RC 390 Cup is based on a series model project. Both of these two projects were given the highest priority because the development of lower displacement, high quality street bikes are among our core activities. The new KTM RC 390, which will be available for sale in 2014, will meet a big demand for affordable, quality sport bikes for the lower displacement class. Since 1993, ADAC has achieved a great deal with excellent work with up-and-coming riders in the Junior Cup. The promotion and support of young talent is also a very important aspect for KTM. We are happy to put a lot of energy into this because we actively engage in the promotion of young riders both in off-road sports and on asphalt. We are honestly thrilled that we will be able to support the ADAC Junior Cup as the KTM 390 Cup with all KTM bikes. Also because with ADAC we have a committed, reliable and strong partner, where everyone involved is a professional," said Stefan Pierer, CEO, KTM.
