Honda has launched the new N-One hatchback in Japan. It has been developed on the lines of the N360, the first mass produced Honda mini-hatchback in 1967. The N-One has a cabin which can accommodate four grown-ups in reasonable comfort, with a suspension which is tuned for comfort. Honda is offering the N-One in two engine configurations - 660cc and 660cc Turbo with no details given on the power figures. Both the engines are mated to a CVT transmission. Fuel efficiency is a claimed 27kmpl in the Japanese cycle. Emergency Stop Signal, a feature which responds to sudden braking by blinking the hazard lamps is a standard feature. The price? Japanese conversion rates show that the Honda N-One retails at a rather steep price of Rs 7.81 lakh, for something which will ideally be a Eon or Alto competitor, but with more flair.
