Launched 2012 Premier Rio CRDi4 in India
Premier has launched its Rio SUV with a 1.3-litre Multijet heart. Showcased earlier at the 2012 Auto Expo, the Premier Rio CRDi4 is priced at Rs 6.74 lakh, ex-Pune. The 1248cc fixed geometry turbo engine produces 72PS of power and 183Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Premier claims that this BS4 compliant Fiat-sourced diesel engine will deliver a fuel efficiency of 19kmpl. The fact that this Multijet engine is being used in different cars in India helps with the service, spare parts and maintenance of the Rio. The new Rio is being offered in four colours â" black, white, silver and red.
Currently there are three variants of the Rio - the 76.6PS 1.2-litre petrol, the 64.8PS 1.5-litre diesel and now the CRDi4. Premier's assembly facility will be able to produce 1000 units of the CRDi4 Rio each month. Deliveries will start from August 2, 2012. The company currently has 55 dealerships across the country and aims to add another 45 by the end of this year.
