Launched: 2013 BMW 7 Series in India at Rs 92.90 lakh

BMW India has launched the facelifted 7 Series in India. Available in four variants (730Ld, 740Li, 750Li and 760Li), prices for the 2013 7 Series starts from Rs 92.90 lakh ex-showroom.

So what's new? The face-lift brings along with it revisions to the nose, kidney grille and fog lamps. The lights are full LED now and the new corona rings are no longer circular but similar to the 3 and 6 Series, are angular. At the rear, a new chrome strip connects the reflectors.

Inside, the new 7 Series gets new design for the front leather seats which claim to have better comfort and support. The rear seat passengers, as before, remain pampered and have separate controls for the now-latest gen iDrive system.

The entire range of 7 Series models get updated engines with additional power and better fuel economy. All the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission (outgoing model featured a 6-speed unit). The fuel saving techniques include â" auto start-stop, brake energy regeneration and a new ECO PRO driving mode that changes gear shift points and optimises the climate control for better efficiency. There are three petrol engines and one diesel engine namely â" BMW 760Li with a V12 engine, the BMW 740Li with the new BMW TwinPower turbo six-cylinder engine and the BMW 750Li with an updated V8 unit. The only diesel model, the 730d features a six-cylinder engine and is assembled locally while all the petrol variants are imported as CBUs.
