Launched: 2013 Maruti Suzuki SX4 in India at Rs 7.39 lakh
Maruti has just launched the 2013 model of the SX4. Unfortunately for us, the changes that have been made are not the ones that we had seen on the updated SX4 that was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show. There are only minor tweaks to the styling and an increase in economy.
Outside, the car gets new, more muscular bumpers, a restyled front grille, new fog lamps and a restyled tail light cluster. Inside is the usual set of upgrades that include new upholstery, a black and beige colour theme, chrome inserts on the air-con vents, touchscreen infotainment with built in navigation and Bluetooth as well as electronically foldable rear view mirrors.
Mechanically not much has changed. The engine has been now christened the "Super Diesel" DDiS and the manufacturer now claims increased fuel economy figures, but not by much. The diesel engine is now claiming to return 21.79kmpl and the petrol, 16.51kmpl (up from 21.5kmpl and 15.5kmpl).
Prices for the 2013 SX4 ex-Delhi are: Petrol â" (Rs 7.39 lakh â" Rs 8.25 lakh), Diesel â" (Rs 8.27 lakh â" Rs 9.22 lakh) and SX4 CNG Rs 7.99 lakh
