Land Rover has launched the updated Range Rover in London. Sporting the company's new design language first seen on the Evoque, the 2013 Range Rover now comes in an elegant package. The cabin boasts of increased leg room to the tune of 118mm for the rear seat passengers. It also offers new two-seat executive class seating package. Customers can also package their Range Rover with trimmed colour-themed interiors of the exclusive Autobiography series or even specifying the alloy wheel size.

The company claims that this is the world's first SUV which has an all aluminium monocoque chassis made up of magnesium castings amongst other components. Featured in this SUV is an upgraded version of the Terrain Response System which analyses the current driving condition and automatically selects the appropriate vehicle settings. Land Rover also says that the new lightweight suspension architecture allows the SUV to have a very good wheel articulation which helps it deal with the toughest conditions. Seating position for the driver, with the Command Driving Position, has been said to be enhanced by 90mm higher than other SUVs in its class.

For the engine options, customers can opt for a 510PS supercharged V8 petrol engine or the 258PS and 339PS TDV6 and SDV8 diesel engines respectively. Claimed acceleration figures for the petrol engine hint at a 0-100 lap time of 5.1 seconds, 0.8s less than the outgoing version. The company also claims that fuel efficiency across the range has been vastly improved upon from the 2012 variants.

The 2013 Land Rover has been priced at Rs 63.18 lakh minus duties in UK.
