As a part of their Safe Drive Campaign, Apollo Tyres recently conducted a survey in Thailand. In the two locations where the survey was carried out, it was found that less than 10 per cent of the cars had incorrect tyre pressures. Of the 10 per cent, most cars were found to have under-inflated tyres. Apollo Tyres had conducted similar surveys in other countries and found that the percentage of incorrect tyre pressures was higher compared to those in Thailand.
During the Safe Drive Campaign, Apollo Tyres officials conducted free checks at the Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway Service Centre and the Thap chang Service Centre at KM 48+300 Bangpa-in Motorway. In its duration, over 315 cars' tyre pressures were checked in the survey. The campaign was conducted in association with various bodies like The Department of Highways and The Road Safety Policy Foundation Thailand.
I am very happy to see that the motorists in Thailand are taking good care of their tyres, which is very important for driver and passenger safety. This is the most satisfactory survey results that we have received in all the Safe Drive Campaigns that we have conducted in various countries across the world to encourage and ensure healthy driving habits amongst all." said Shubhro Ghosh, group head, ASEAN Region, Apollo Tyres Ltd.
