Lexus to debut the LF-NX concept at Frankfurt
Lexus had earlier teased motorheads with a preview of a car that "explores the potential for a compact crossover within the Lexus model range." A new Lexus mid-size crossover concept, the LF-NX, will have its global premier at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.
Lexus' spindle grille and a signature arrangement of the front lights can be noted
With many automakers going the 'compact' way with their crossovers, like the GLA, X1, V40 Cross Country, Evoque and Q3, Lexus adding this long-anticipated compact crossover to its model range will only spice things up. The concept comes across as finely creased and powerfully sculpted. It gets a more evolved version of Lexus' typical L-finesse design language.
A steep tailgate and Brushed Metal Silver paintjob are aesthetics that clearly help this concept stand out
Lexus' spindle grille and a signature arrangement of the front lights, quintessential standalone DRLs that form a 'tick', distinct front corners that separate the bumper from the front wings with a sharp vertical crease, muscular wheel arches with blackened edges, rear lamp assembly that go down the full depth of the bumper, steep tailgate and Brushed Metal Silver paintjob are aesthetics that clearly help this concept stand out.
The upholstery marks distinctions of dark grey and yellow leather and the central console gets chrome
On the inside, the concept gets a heavy dose of electrostatic switches and a fresh Remote Touch Interface touch pad. The upholstery makes distinctions of dark grey and yellow leather and the central console gets chrome.
Nothing substantial has been said about the powertrain. A 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a hybrid motor is being guessed. One thing is certain; Lexus has said the car will be "powered by a new variation of the Lexus Hybrid Drive full hybrid system, tuned for SUV performance."
